Genshin Impact: Locations for All Night’s Trial (Special Obsidian Totems)

For many Travelers in Genshin Impact, battling bosses has become a routine task, especially since open-world bosses often lack challenge. However, in Natlan, some bosses can pose a significant challenge, particularly for players who overlook tutorials and hints on defeating them.

To engage these tougher foes, players must interact with Obsidian Totems, which initiate a Night's Trial. If you're aiming to complete all Night's Trials, you’ll need to locate each Special Obsidian Totem in the game.

Obsidian Totem Location 1: Ichcahuipilli’s Aegis

The Ichcahuipilli’s Aegis Night’s Trial can be found north of Huitztli Hill in Natlan. Start by teleporting to Huitztli Hill and moving northeast toward the river in the valley.

To summon the totem, you need to activate three lights near its location.

1. Begin at the tree in the middle of the river, where you’ll find a rock with Condessence Crystals behind it. Destroy the top crystal to make an underground creature move.

2. Follow the creature as it navigates above ground until it reaches its resting spot.

3. The second creature is located within a tree, blocked by a stone cube that requires a hook to remove. Go into the tree to find the hook, then return to the stone cube to clear the path.

4. The third underground creature is located just north, a short distance from the area. For the second and third lights, you’ll need to transform into Yumkasaurus to interact with them.

After activating all three lights, an Obsidian Totem and a Luxurious Chest will appear, allowing you to start the Night’s Trial.

Obsidian Totem Location 2: Tlatzacuilotl

Finding the Tlatzacuilotl Night’s Trial can be a bit tricky. Teleport to the northeastern Sulfurous Veins Waypoint and jump southeast down to the Sulfurous Veins area.

Eventually, you’ll encounter a lone Tepetlisaurus near a shiny rock. Transform into the Tepetlisaurus and hit the rock to initiate a path leading to the cave containing the second Obsidian Totem.

Obsidian Totem Location 3: Chimalli's Shade

You can find the Chimalli's Shade Night’s Trial northwest of the Ancestral Temple. Teleport to the northern Ancestral Temple Waypoint and walk a few steps south to discover the Obsidian Totem hidden in an open area.

Obsidian Totem Location 4: "He Never Dies"

"He Never Dies" resembles a Capybara and is another boss you’ll face. To locate it, teleport to the southern Coatepec Mountain Waypoint and head north toward the nearby lake, where you’ll find the Obsidian Totem situated in the heart of the mountain.

Obsidian Totem Location 5: Atlatl's Blessing

Next is Atlatl's Blessing. Teleport to the Ancient Watchtower Weapon Ascension Material Domain and proceed east until you reach a waterfall. Behind this waterfall, you’ll find a cave protected by weaker enemies. Continue through the cave until you reach a lava area.

Near the dead end, you’ll find a Tepetlisaurus transformation that lets you navigate further inside the cave without being swept away by the strong currents.

Obsidian Totem Location 6: Cihuacoatl of Chimeric Bone

Reaching the Cihuacoatl of Chimeric Bone Night’s Trial can be accomplished in various ways, as the Obsidian Totem is perched atop a remote mountain.

The simplest method is to teleport to the southwestern Teticpac Peak Waypoint beneath the mountain. Transform into Yumkasaurus and leap to the wooden cliff on the opposite side.

From there, take a leap of faith into the void and turn right midair to connect with several Sigils. Use these Sigils to ascend until you reach the top. The final Sigils should be visible, and you'll need to make one more leap of faith to get closer before connecting with them.

By following these steps, you’ll successfully locate all Special Obsidian Totems and complete the Night's Trials in Genshin Impact. Happy exploring!
