Throne and Liberty is brimming with fantastical creatures, one of the most remarkable being the colossal, flying whale known as the Gigantrite. Adventurers may catch their first glimpse of this magnificent aerial creature soaring above the landscape early in the game. However, it's important to note that the Gigantrite doesn't appear all the time; it spawns roughly every three hours. Luckily, players will receive a server-wide notification when it makes its entrance.
For those daring enough to seek an exhilarating experience, you may be wondering if this majestic creature can be ridden like other beasts in the game. In an exciting twist, the answer is yes! By meeting a few specific requirements, players can take to the skies on the Gigantrite. This guide will walk you through the steps needed to embark on this aerial adventure.
To successfully ride the Gigantrite, players must complete a couple of prerequisites. Fortunately, this process does not involve combat.
1. Unlock the Glide Morph Ability: The first step is to acquire the Glide Morph ability, which allows players to transform into flying creatures. You can unlock this ability by completing quests, defeating bosses, or finishing codex entries. Alternatively, it can also be purchased from the shop. While it doesn’t matter which Glide Morph you choose, ensure that it has enough flight capability to reach the Gigantrite.
2. Access the Starlight Observatory Ruins: Next, you need to gain access to the Starlight Observatory Ruins, located northwest of Vienta Village and east of Kastelon. Once you have unlocked these ruins, you will be ready for your Gigantrite encounter.
To board the Gigantrite, climb to the highest point of the ruins and patiently wait for the creature to fly by. Look for the tallest tower within the ruins; this vantage point offers the best angle to spot the Gigantrite as it travels. When you see it approaching, simply leap from your perch and glide towards it using your Glide Morph.
While this can be a bit challenging due to visibility issues and the presence of other players attempting the same feat, landing on the Gigantrite's back is possible with some skill. Keep in mind that if you miss your opportunity, you’ll have to wait another three hours for it to reappear.
With a bit of luck, you’ll successfully land on the Gigantrite! While the ride may not be the most interactive experience available, it provides a breathtaking view of the world below and unlocks the "Little Friend in the Sky" codex entry, making your adventure all the more memorable.
