Securing Obsidian Codex Artifacts is essential for optimizing certain character builds in Genshin Impact. This Artifact set, introduced with Version 5.0 alongside the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, marks the first Artifact additions from the Nation of Natlan. Both sets are farmed from the same location, but on different days, and they offer distinct advantages. The Obsidian Codex, for instance, is ideal for Mualani's build, while the Cinder City set does not complement her.
These Natlan Artifact sets stand out from previous ones due to their incorporation of the Nightsoul’s Blessing mechanic, unique to Natlan characters. It's anticipated that Obsidian Codex will benefit various DPS units utilizing the Nightsoul’s Blessing mechanic, including future Natlan characters like Kinich. To leverage this set, you'll first need to know where to farm Obsidian Codex Artifacts effectively.
To acquire Obsidian Codex Artifacts, head to the Domain of Blessing: Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits, located in the Toyac Springs area of Natlan. This region, known for its hot springs and abundant water flow, is also home to the People of the Springs tribe. From the Teleport Waypoint near the tribe, travel northward, and you’ll find the Domain entrance to the left, at the mouth of a tunnel.
Alternatively, you can use a closer Teleport Waypoint northeast of the Domain. You can also check the official interactive map on HoYoLAB for visual guidance. Fortunately, the Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits has no puzzles or obstacles, so simply approach and interact with it to begin the challenge and start farming Obsidian Codex Artifacts.
The Obsidian Codex Artifact set is highly prized for its combat enhancements. It is considered a powerful upgrade over the Marechaussee Hunter set, despite their different mechanics. Equipping two pieces of the Obsidian Codex set boosts your character’s damage by 15% while in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, affecting all damage sources including Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, Plunging Attacks, Elemental Skills, and Elemental Bursts.
The four-piece set bonus is equally impressive. When the user consumes a Nightsoul point while on the field, their CRIT Rate increases by 40% for six seconds, with the effect refreshing once per second. For characters like Mualani, who regularly deplete Nightsoul points, this set ensures a steady 40% CRIT Rate bonus, allowing you to concentrate on enhancing her CRIT DMG.
As the first Artifact set designed for Natlan DPS characters, including Kinich and others yet to be released, the Obsidian Codex set is set to become indispensable. Its synergy with the Nightsoul’s Blessing mechanics and substantial damage and CRIT Rate bonuses make it one of the top Artifact sets in the game.
