Zenless Zone Zero Unveils Jane Doe's Gameplay Kit

Zenless Zone Zero has officially introduced Jane Doe, an S-Rank character set to debut in the latter part of the ongoing Version 1.1 update. This announcement follows the release of Qingyi, another highly-anticipated character, who joined the roster in the first half of the update. As the latest addition to HoYoverse’s RPG, Jane Doe promises to be a standout with her unique skill set.

Jane Doe's Gameplay and Abilities

Jane Doe, a Physical Anomaly character, is poised to make a significant impact with her specialized abilities. She is a member of New Eridu Public Security's Criminal Investigation Special Response Team, alongside Zhu Yuan and Qingyi. Her gameplay was unveiled in a recent "Agent Mechanics" post by HoYoverse.

- Additional Ability (Sore Spot): When paired with another Anomaly Agent or a team member from the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team, Jane's Physical Anomaly Buildup Rate increases by 20%. If the target is already affected by an Attribute Anomaly, Jane's Buildup Rate further increases by 15%.

- Core Skill: Jane generates Passion Stream when she uses skills that deal damage. Upon reaching a maximum level of Passion Stream, she enters the Passion state, enhancing her Physical Anomaly Buildup Rate and attack power. While in the Passion state, Jane's damage output is amplified, and Passion Stream is consumed with each attack. Perfect Dodges or Defensive Assists replenish Passion Stream. When Passion Stream is depleted, the Passion state ends. Holding down the Normal Attack during this state triggers a Basic Attack: Salchow Jump, delivering a series of rapid strikes followed by a Finishing Move, dealing Physical Damage and restoring Passion Stream.

- Ultimate (Final Curtain): Jane executes a series of slashes on enemies in front of her, culminating in a powerful Finishing Move that inflicts substantial Physical Damage. Activating this skill also immediately triggers the Passion state and fully restores Passion Stream.

Anticipation and Impact

Jane Doe's gameplay is anticipated to offer substantial Physical damage, making her a valuable asset for players seeking a high-damage option. Her skills will likely synergize well with other Anomaly characters, such as Grace and Piper, and complement members of the Criminal Investigation Team. Jane will make her debut alongside Seth, another new four-star character from New Eridu Public Security, on September 4.

The introduction of Jane and Seth is expected to shift the early meta of Zenless Zone Zero, which has been dominated by characters like Ellen Joe, considered one of the most powerful Attack characters. Zhu Yuan and Qingyi have also been notable for their high usage rates in the Shiyu Defense mode. Jane Doe's arrival aims to enhance the roster with a robust new option for Anomaly-focused teams.
