A trusted source within the Genshin Impact community has shared intriguing details about the ability kit for Mavuika, the upcoming Pyro Archon, set to debut in Version 5.3. Genshin Impact has introduced numerous beloved characters, but the Archons hold a special place in the game's universe. As the embodiment of their respective nations and the central figure of their regions, Archons stand apart. This has been especially true for Furina, who has passed her divine powers to Neuvillette.
Unlike the playable Harbingers in Genshin Impact, Archons are often designed with a focus on support abilities. For example, Zhongli is renowned for his powerful Elemental Shield, and Raiden excels at resolving Energy Recharge issues for many teams. Mavuika, however, has generated particular excitement for two main reasons: her potential synergy with Bennett and Xiangling, two Pyro 4-Star characters who have been dominant in the meta since the game's release.
Many players hope Mavuika will carve out a unique role similar to what Bennett and Xiangling offer. According to a leak from FouL, this expectation might be well-founded. Mavuika’s ability kit is said to be a blend of Raiden and Yelan's abilities. Her Elemental Skill grants the active character a buff that triggers follow-up Pyro attacks for a set duration, or alternatively, it can infuse Mavuika’s own attacks with Pyro when held. Meanwhile, her Elemental Burst unleashes coordinated Pyro strikes at two-second intervals.
Mavuika's kit has a key advantage over other off-field Pyro characters—access to Natlan's Artifact Sets, a potential game-changer for certain team compositions. While Bennett and Xiangling will still be valuable in some setups, Mavuika is expected to be a clear upgrade for characters like Clorinde, provided this ability kit is included in the beta. On the field, her Pyro infusion could make her a formidable hypercarry at Constellation 0, especially when paired with Xianyun. As an added bonus, her mobility in the open world will allow her to ride a Phlogiston motorcycle over mountains, across water, and on flat terrain.
Despite her versatility, Mavuika’s kit does not overlap with Bennett’s, as her Elemental Skill’s Pyro infusion is exclusive to her. This means Bennett's top spot in the meta may remain unchallenged—at least until another Pyro 5-Star, potentially Xbalanque, enters the fray. Whether Xbalanque will become playable remains a hot topic of speculation.
Fans won’t have to wait too long to see Mavuika in action—her debut is expected in the first half of Version 5.3, set to launch on January 1, 2025.
