In Enotria: The Last Song, there are two ways to begin the Lovers quest. Players can either discover Medea’s letter first or speak to Adso (also known as Mantellone) during Chapter Two. The good news is that advancing to Chapter Two won't lock out any characters from the first chapter, Quinta.

As the Maskless One, your task is to deliver heartbreaking news to Adso and witness his sorrow over the loss of his lover. Although the quest is considered complete after speaking with Mantellone and obtaining a weapon, you can still talk to Maja to mark the Lover's entry as "Tale Complete."

How to Start the Lovers Quest

To trigger the Lovers quest, you must first collect Medea’s letter from her body in the Monastery of Maja. After defeating Curtis, the Prince of Laughter, a door to the left of his boss arena will open, leading you to a darker version of the city.

Once you’ve unlocked the Monastery of Maja Reality Knot, head down the stairs and defeat the enemy there. When you reach a large arena, go to the right towards the closed gate, then take a left where you’ll spot a large branch. Climb this branch and continue forward until you find a crab-like enemy near a corpse holding an item. The item is Medea’s letter to Adso (Mantellone), which will initiate the Lovers quest.

Where to Find Adso

You can locate Mantellone Adso in Chapter Two, Falesia Magna, near the Necropolis Reality Knot. After unlocking the Turf of the Coastal Horror Knot, turn right to reach the Necropolis. Climb the stairs and jump down the hill ahead.

Keep moving forward, climbing the wooden platform past the skeleton enemies until you encounter a broken column. Scale the column to reach a higher hill filled with enemies. Navigate around this area and climb another broken column, where you’ll find Adso waiting at the top. If this is your first time speaking to him, the Lovers quest will officially begin, and you must find Medea’s corpse and report back to him to finish the quest.

Should You Agree or Disagree with Adso

When you talk to Mantellone, he reveals that he's waiting for his lover and asks for your help in finding her. After handing over Medea’s letter and revealing the sad truth, Adso will ask you a question. Whether you agree or disagree with him doesn’t change the overall outcome of the game. Regardless of your choice, you’ll still receive the legendary weapon, Emerald Maiden, which inflicts the Malanno/Sick status. The decision only affects how Adso feels toward the Maskless One.

After answering, a new entry will appear in your books, prompting you to speak with Maja. If you've already unlocked her and she resides in the Theater of the Masks, simply talk to her to complete the Lovers quest and close this emotional chapter of Enotria: The Last Song.
