Pokemon GO has exciting news for trainers as it prepares to debut four new Dynamax Pokemon—Falinks, Scorbunny, Sobble, and Grookey—on October 1. As part of the new season titled Max Out, players will finally have the opportunity to expand their collections with these much-anticipated Dynamax forms.
The Dynamax phenomenon made its first appearance in Pokemon GO during the GO Big event, which ran from September 10-15. During this event, trainers had the chance to battle Dynamax versions of Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Wooloo, and Skwovet in one-star Max Battles. If you managed to catch any of these Pokemon, you’ll now be able to Dynamax them and their evolutions in future Max Battles. Alongside these battles, players could participate in special Field Research tasks that rewarded encounters with these Pokemon and provided Max Particles—a key item for taking part in this exciting new feature.
Now, Niantic has announced that the next wave of Dynamax Pokemon will be available on October 1, with Falinks, Scorbunny, Sobble, and Grookey leading the charge. You’ll be able to face Scorbunny, Sobble, and Grookey in one-star Max Battles, while Falinks will be a tougher challenge, available in three-star Max Battles. For those seeking rare finds, there’s also the chance to encounter shiny versions of these Pokemon. Just like the earlier Dynamax releases, once you’ve captured these Pokemon, they will be eligible for Dynamaxing in future Max Battles.
Max Battles bring new mechanics to Pokemon GO, offering a fresh twist on the familiar raid experience. To enter a Max Battle, players will need to collect Max Particles, which can also be used to upgrade Max Moves. You can earn these particles by interacting with Power Spots—where Dynamax Pokemon appear—or simply by walking in the game.
In Max Battles, up to four trainers can join forces, each bringing up to three Dynamax Pokemon to challenge the powerful boss. Unlike traditional raids, these battles are turn-based, requiring players to adopt more strategic gameplay to secure victory.
As September draws to a close, Pokemon GO is offering plenty of activities to keep trainers engaged. One of the highlights is the arrival of Shiny Zacian in the Legendary Heroes event, running from September 26 to October 1. This event will also mark the debut of Galarian Weezing, as trainers will, for the first time, have the ability to evolve Koffing into this Galarian form.
October is shaping up to be an action-packed month in Pokemon GO. Trainers can look forward to a Community Day featuring Sewaddle on October 5, and the Galarian Expedition event from October 4-11. This special event will introduce shiny forms of Zamazenta and the Galarian birds, offering players even more opportunities to expand their shiny collections.
