During Minecraft Live 2024, Mojang made exciting announcements, including the reveal of a brand-new biome called The Pale Garden and a new mob known as The Creaking. New Drops: Bundles of Bravery and The Pale Garden

The first major update, Bundles of Bravery, will bring Hardcore Mode to the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft. This mode, known for its intense single-life challenge, has long been a favorite in the Java edition. Additionally, Bundles—a feature that players have been eagerly awaiting—will finally be added, allowing for easier item management in the game.

The second update, The Pale Garden, introduces an eerie new biome along with a menacing creature, The Creaking. The update will also feature new blocks and a variety of other gameplay elements.

The Pale Garden Biome

The Pale Garden is a mysterious and haunting new forest biome. It will introduce Pale Trees made from a unique type of wood called Pale Oak, as well as Hanging Moss and Pale Moss blocks and carpets. The entire biome has a desaturated, ominous look, enhanced by eerie ambient sounds tied to the blocks within it.

However, The Pale Garden becomes especially dangerous at night, as this is when a fearsome new mob—the Creaking—emerges.

Meet The Creaking

The Creaking is a tree-like monster that only appears within The Pale Garden biome. It stands completely still as long as you're watching it, but when you're not looking, it moves, making it a chilling threat. Incredibly durable, the Creaking cannot be killed by conventional means. This is because it draws its power from a special block known as The Creaking Heart, which is found within Pale Oak trees.

To defeat The Creaking, players must destroy The Creaking Heart, which will eliminate all nearby Creakings. Alternatively, players can use the Silktouch enchantment to harvest The Creaking Heart, potentially allowing them to spawn the creatures elsewhere in their world.

Fans have already compared The Creaking to well-known fictional monsters like the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who and SCP-173 from the SCP Foundation, both of which share the unsettling trait of moving only when unobserved.

Coming Soon to Minecraft

Although Mojang has not provided an exact release date for these features, players can expect The Creaking, The Pale Garden, and the other new blocks to be available in the next few months. Additionally, these elements will soon be accessible in Minecraft's beta and snapshot modes, giving eager players an early look at the updates.

Stay tuned as these thrilling new features promise to shake up Minecraft’s already expansive universe!
