A fresh update has just launched for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, bringing with it a range of exciting changes and enhancements that players won't want to overlook. The October 1 patch features significant adjustments to several multiplayer maps, along with a host of weapon buffs. Additionally, Call of Duty: Warzone has received an update that includes various weapon adjustments and enhancements to the game's seasonal Halloween mode.
Modern Warfare 3 is a contemporary remake of the beloved 2011 title of the same name and serves as a sequel to 2022's Modern Warfare 2. It offers the classic Call of Duty experience, featuring an engaging campaign and a comprehensive multiplayer mode. Both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone have benefited from ongoing updates throughout their lifecycles, with the latest October 1 patch introducing a plethora of changes to both games.
The patch notes, recently shared by Call of Duty in a blog post, detail the updates affecting Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. The new patch specifically addresses issues on two multiplayer maps: Shipment and Sporeyard. Notably, the patch resolves an inconsistency with spawn points on Shipment and fixes an exploit that permitted players to reach out-of-bounds areas on Sporeyard.
While Modern Warfare 3 offers a diverse selection of maps, the latest patch brings significant adjustments to the weaponry. Shotguns have seen considerable changes, with the maximum damage range increased for the KV Broadside, Lockwood 300, Expedite 12, Bryson 800, and Bryson 890. Handguns also received notable enhancements, including increased maximum damage for the P890, .50 GS, and X12. Additionally, the Guardian-SC killstreak has been updated to allow turret deployment while the user is standing in water.
Warzone, the popular free-to-play battle royale mode, also underwent several updates. Crossbow enthusiasts will appreciate the improvements, as the crossbow now boasts increased velocity and reduced gravity, making it easier to land long-range shots. Furthermore, the limited-time Halloween event, Purgatory, has been adjusted to ensure that downed enemies contribute to the progression of the Terrible Challenge.
Like Modern Warfare 3, Warzone has consistently received updates over the years, introducing balance changes, new maps, weapons, items, and operators. This trend is set to continue with the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on October 25. Developed by Treyarch, the new installment will take players back to the early 1990s, picking up where Black Ops Cold War left off in 2020.
