To mark the arrival of mods on consoles, Larian Studios has partnered with Spud Gun Studios to create a quirky animated short for Baldur’s Gate 3. The three-minute video, brimming with humor, brings back the game’s beloved characters for a chaotic adventure in a world where Dungeons & Dragons meets giant rabbits.

In the animation, a mischievous modding wizard turns the streets of Baldur's Gate upside down, even altering the main party in ridiculous ways. Gale ends up with a bleach blonde haircut straight out of Smash Mouth and, to top it off, he’s armed with a glock. Meanwhile, Karlach sports a pot on her head, reminiscent of the legendary Elden Ring player, Let Me Solo Her, and Shadowheart begins vomiting rainbows.

For those unfamiliar, Let Me Solo Her is a renowned Elden Ring player who helped over 1,000 people defeat the game's toughest boss, making Karlach’s transformation a humorous nod to this iconic figure.

Battling Chaos: Lightsabers, Baguettes, and More

In their effort to stop the mayhem caused by this immersion-breaking modder, the party steps up with their own unique—and hilarious—arsenal. Wyll unleashes a lightsaber cutlass, Astarion wields purple flames, and Shadowheart arms herself with a magical baguette. Naturally, the baguette doesn’t prove quite up to the task, leading to Shadowheart being turned into a cat woman.

The Ultimate Horror: Lae'zel Gets a Human Nose

One of the more amusing moments in the animation is Lae’zel’s reaction to receiving a human nose—something that feels horribly out of place for a Githyanki, a species known for their small, flat noses. Lae’zel has always been vocal about her disdain for typical humanoid features, even mocking them in-game. However, fan-made mods have persistently altered the cast’s appearance, including giving Lae’zel a variety of human noses—an unsettling change for the character.

Larian’s animation playfully takes a jab at these modifications by showing Lae’zel panic after being "yassified" with a human nose. Of course, she gets her revenge by wielding a chainsaw hand, à la Evil Dead, much to the approval of Vlaakith, her Githyanki queen.

This lighthearted short not only highlights the creative potential of mods but also pokes fun at the extremes players can go to—delivering plenty of laughs along the way.
