The Black Shores are portrayed as a shadowy organization based on the Tacetite islands, which are hidden behind a veil of dense digital fog. This group is devoted to monitoring The Lament through Resonance Beacons, collecting data to further their goal of saving the world.

Although it remains unclear when or how the Black Shores will be fully revealed, the Wuthering Waves official website suggests that The Shorekeeper will play a pivotal role in lifting this mystery. Her presence has been teased since the game's official release trailer, "Waking of a World," where her signature butterfly is subtly featured around the 50-second mark.

Leaks from the 1.3 beta reveal her Outro Skill, Binary Butterfly, which grants a temporary damage boost and summons two butterflies—Flare Star Butterfly and Dim Star Butterfly—to orbit the active character. If struck, she sacrifices some of her health to perform a dodge.

Her main mechanic, the Forte Circuit called Astral Chord, allows her to create and fill Collapsed Cores, transforming them into Flare Star Butterflies that seek out and damage enemies. Alongside this offensive capability, The Shorekeeper enhances her team with powerful buffs, including up to a 10% Crit Rate increase and a 20% ATK boost, which scale based on her Energy Regeneration.
