Epic class weapons from World of Warcraft Classic's Season of Discovery are set to make their way into the modern version of World of Warcraft as part of its 20th-anniversary celebrations. During the Classic Timewalking event, players will have the opportunity to unlock these stunning transmogs, marking a unique crossover between the classic and retail versions of the game.
World of Warcraft Classic's latest update, known as Season of Discovery, has brought a host of fresh content to the game. This includes innovative Rune engravings that alter class abilities, revamped raid bosses, and new dungeons that players have never explored before. The recent release of Phase 5 in the Season of Discovery also introduced a new cycle of class-specific Epic weapons, sparking excitement among fans eager to collect them.
Previously exclusive to the Season of Discovery, these class-specific weapons will soon be available to players in modern WoW through the Classic Timewalking event. This special event, part of the game’s 20th anniversary, will reintroduce several iconic Classic dungeons that haven't been accessible for over a decade. During this event, a new vendor named Bobadormu will offer a range of items in exchange for Timewarped Badges, including cosmetic versions of all the Epic weapons from the Season of Discovery.
Item | Type | Cost |
Claymore of the Knight's Pledge | Two-Handed Sword | 2,500 |
Doomwail Reaper | Polearm | 2,500 |
Doomreaper's Scythe | Staff | 2,500 |
Bearded Branch of Lore | Staff | 2,500 |
Kirin Tor Adept's Stave | Staff | 2,500 |
Tusked Branch of War | Staff | 2,500 |
Gilded Drakecrest Shield | Shield | 2,000 |
Emberswirl Bulwark | Shield | 2,000 |
Farstrider's Huntsblade | One-Handed Sword | 1,500 |
Runed-Ice Dirk | Dagger | 1,500 |
Unlike the original Season of Discovery items, these new cosmetic weapons won't be restricted by class. For example, any character capable of using one-handed swords can wield the Hunter’s Farstrider’s Huntsblade, and any class that can equip shields can use the Warrior’s Gilded Drakecrest. Many of these weapons are designed to pair perfectly with their class’s revamped Tier 2 sets, which will also be available during the event.
However, acquiring these items won’t be cheap. Players will need to spend 1,500 Timewarped Badges for one-handed weapons, 2,000 for shields, and 2,500 for two-handed weapons. Even though it’s now easier to transfer Timewarped Badges across different World of Warcraft accounts, collecting enough to purchase all the weapons could still be a challenging task. Whether Classic Timewalking will join the regular event rotation or return in future anniversary events remains uncertain, so fans are encouraged to grab as many items as possible while they’re available.
Beyond these exciting new items, WoW’s 20th-anniversary event will offer plenty of other rewards. Players can also look forward to earning revamped Tier 2 sets and other items from past anniversaries throughout the celebration. The event is scheduled to kick off on October 22, as per the WoW Public Test Realm calendar, with an official start date announcement expected soon.
This anniversary promises to be a must-attend event for WoW fans, blending nostalgia with new opportunities to enhance their collections in both Classic and modern versions of the game.
