With the highly anticipated release of Super Mario Party Jamboree just around the corner, fans are getting the chance to experience the game early at select retail locations. While some Nintendo enthusiasts might be hoping for a downloadable demo on the Nintendo Switch, there’s another way to get a hands-on look at Super Mario Party Jamboree before its official release.
The Mario Party franchise has been a beloved part of Nintendo's lineup since its debut on the N64, and its popularity has only grown on the Switch. The 2018 release of Super Mario Party sold over 20 million copies, and 2021's Mario Party Superstars reached an impressive 12 million units sold.
Building on this momentum, Nintendo is set to introduce Super Mario Party Jamboree, featuring over 110 minigames and seven unique boards from the start. Alongside these classic features, the game will also include various new modes designed to add fresh twists to the traditional Mario Party gameplay.
For players eager to see what's new in this installment, trying Super Mario Party Jamboree ahead of its release could be a great opportunity. Luckily, Nintendo fans have a chance to do just that at specific retail stores.
According to Nintendo Wire, demo kiosks featuring Super Mario Party Jamboree have been set up at popular retailers like Target, Best Buy, and GameStop across the United States. These demo stations were installed on October 4, allowing fans to test out select game modes before the game’s official launch on October 17.
Each demo session at these kiosks is limited to a 10-minute playtime, so players will only get a short but sweet experience of the game. The demo features two specific game modes: Koopathlon and Minigame Bay.
In Koopathlon, up to 20 players can compete by performing well in minigames to outrun their opponents on the board. This mode focuses on quick, competitive gameplay that highlights the series' fun, fast-paced action.
On the other hand, Minigame Bay supports up to four players and offers a variety of activities based on the extensive collection of over 110 minigames in Super Mario Party Jamboree. During the demo, players can enjoy three modes within Minigame Bay: Showdown Minigame Battle, Free Play, and Tag Match.
While it remains to be seen if Nintendo will release an eShop demo for Super Mario Party Jamboree, there's still hope. With the game’s launch date fast approaching, the window for an online demo is closing. However, Nintendo has previously surprised fans by releasing demos for its major titles at the last minute, so there's still a chance one might be on the way.
Fans of the series and newcomers alike are eagerly awaiting Super Mario Party Jamboree’s full release, hoping that it will deliver the engaging gameplay and joyful chaos that the Mario Party franchise is known for. Keep an eye out for more updates as the launch date draws near!
