For Final Fantasy 14 players eagerly anticipating new content with the upcoming Patch 7.1, there’s exciting news on the horizon: the Moogle Treasure Trove event is set to return on October 15. This beloved event will run until the launch of Patch 7.1, and past editions of the Moogle Treasure Trove can offer hints about when this highly awaited update might be released.
The announcement of the Moogle Treasure Trove's return comes just days after Square Enix unveiled details about Patch 7.1, aptly named "Crossroads." This update marks the first significant content addition since the July release of Dawntrail and will begin to resolve some lingering storylines while focusing on characters introduced during the expansion.
In addition to the main narrative, the 7.1 update will introduce the inaugural wing of the Echoes of Vana'diel alliance raid series, titled "Jeuno: The First Walk," referencing one of the central city-states from Final Fantasy 11. Players can also look forward to the Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) raid and the next chapter in the beloved Hildibrand quest series, which will be released in smaller content patches following Patch 7.1.
Although the Crossroads update isn't scheduled to drop until mid-November, the return of the Moogle Treasure Trove may provide players with clues about its timing. According to Square Enix, this event will kick off on Tuesday, October 15, at 4:00 AM Eastern and will conclude when the Final Fantasy 14 servers go offline for maintenance prior to the Patch 7.1 launch.
Historically, Moogle Treasure Trove events during Endwalker lasted about four weeks, ending just as a major patch was released. If this trend continues, Patch 7.1 could very well launch on November 12, fitting nicely within the anticipated mid-November timeframe. This new Moogle Treasure Trove event, subtitled "The Hunt for Goetia," will utilize a reward structure similar to that of the previous Hunt for Genesis event.
During the Moogle Treasure Trove, players can earn a currency called "Irregular Tomestones of Goetia," which can be exchanged for exclusive rewards, including the Donut Earring, the draconic Innocent Gwiber mount, and Hades Barding for chocobos. Players can collect Irregular Tomestones of Goetia by completing various objectives listed in the Mogpendium, which encompass dungeons, Triple Triad, The Hunt, and group activities like Ocean Fishing. Some tasks can be completed weekly, while the Ultimog Challenge can only be attempted once per event.
As Square Enix continues to finalize the main features of Patch 7.1, the upcoming Moogle Treasure Trove event presents an excellent opportunity for players to secure rare rewards. It remains to be seen what challenges await Final Fantasy 14 enthusiasts when the event kicks off.
