In Metaphor: ReFantazio, the Masked Dancer Archetype is a unique class linked to Junah, a character you can recruit. Unlocking this powerful Archetype requires progressing to a new main region in the game and completing certain tasks. Here’s a detailed guide on how to make Junah your Follower and take down the formidable Kokasadors boss.

Upon arriving in Port Brilehaven, you'll be given a mission to infiltrate a Skyrunner, the next major story dungeon. After completing the events within the Skyrunner Charadrius and conquering the challenging bosses, Junah officially joins your party. From there, you’ll need to embark on a quest to locate the legendary artifact, Drakodias.

Fortunately, this side quest is not time-sensitive, so you can take your time exploring or handling other timed missions before returning to this objective.

To start unlocking the Masked Dancer Archetype, head to Virga Island and find Junah near More’s Phantom. Speaking with her triggers the "Save the Mourning Snakes" quest. Your task is to eliminate a monster that’s causing havoc on the Orbwise Path. Completing this quest rewards you with an increase in Imagination.

Make your way to the Orbwise Path, which is a short journey from Virga Island. Be sure to stock up on food supplies by cooking at the Kitchen before you go. Upon arriving, you’ll encounter a small dungeon with the final challenge being the Kokasadors boss. Defeating Kokasadors will make Junah a permanent member of your team, unlocking the Masked Dancer Archetype.

Kokasadors is a level 42 boss with a relatively low health pool. This boss is especially vulnerable to Physical Pierce and Fire attacks, making a variety of Archetypes effective in this battle. Make sure every party member has skills that can take advantage of Kokasadors’ weaknesses. Aim to get eight attack turns in the first round—this can bring down nearly half of the boss’s health quickly. Fire Synthesis attacks, particularly those used by Junah, can deal significant damage, making them well worth the two turns they require.

Be prepared for Kokasadors’ Mamudodyne and Blizzaton attacks, and ensure none of your party members are susceptible to Dark or Ice damage; these vulnerabilities could give Kokasadors additional attack turns, which can be devastating. After a few rounds, the boss will launch a powerful attack targeting any party member without a defensive buff, potentially one-shotting them. This is the most dangerous move in the fight, capable of wiping out your team in a single turn.

To counter this, use the Commander’s Marakukaja Synthesis Skill, which boosts your entire party’s Defense for three turns.

The Masked Dancer stands out as the game’s first unique Archetype. After unlocking it, you gain access to a special feature that allows you to craft Masks in the Special Experiments section at More’s Akademeia. These Masks can be equipped as accessories, granting new skills and altering character affinities. Materials for crafting Masks are obtained by defeating enemies and bosses, or by purchasing them from a Eugief merchant in Port Brilehaven—provided you’ve bought "Secret Of The Eugief's Stall" for 1,000 Reeve from the Virga Island informant.

This flexibility makes the Masked Dancer an excellent choice for players, as it doesn’t require unlocking different Archetypes for individual characters. Instead, you can create Masks to gain the skills you need. The Archetype also accumulates A-EXP, and upon reaching Rank 20, it rewards you with a Hero’s Leaf of Light, which can be used to level up other Archetypes.
