If you're tired of the same old “villainess gets redemption” storyline, this fall’s most unexpected anime might just knock your expectations out cold—literally. May I Ask for One Final Thing? isn't interested in palace intrigue or quiet revenge. It’s sharp, fast-paced, and its heroine doesn’t whisper sweet threats—she throws punches. Hard!

Let’s get one thing straight: this is not your average “reincarnated noble girl” story. Yes, there’s a royal scandal. Yes, a spoiled prince. Yes, a ballroom betrayal. But where most villainess stories lean into political backstabbing or demure character growth, May I Ask for One Final Thing? (Saigo ni Hitotsu Dake Onegai Shite mo Yoroshii Deshou ka?) delivers raw confrontation, bold action, and a heroine who absolutely refuses to play the victim.
It’s a fresh, genre-bending mix of fantasy, romance, and action comedy—with a lead who breaks the mold and beats up everyone who tries to break her.

Based on the light novel series by Nana Otori, the story originally gained traction on Japanese web novel platforms before being picked up by KADOKAWA. Its growing popularity led to a manga adaptation illustrated by Sora Hoshinagi, which helped bring even more visibility to its unique tone—one that blends elegance with sudden bursts of chaos.
As of late 2024, the light novel series has released 5 volumes, while the manga continues serialization with strong reader support both in Japan and overseas.
Now, it's officially coming to screens. The anime adaptation is set to premiere October 4, 2025, as part of the Fall 2025 anime season.

The animation is being handled by LIDENFILMS Kyoto Studio, a team with a proven track record in adapting dynamic, character-driven stories. At the helm is Kazuya Sakamoto (Director), working alongside Deko Akao (Series Composition), and Eriko Fuga (Character Design). The original score comes from Hinako Tsubakiyama, known for her emotionally layered compositions.
And the voice cast? It's stacked.
Asami Seto voices Scarlet El Vandymean, the fierce, no-nonsense protagonist who sets the story ablaze. Taito Ban plays Kyle von Parstein, the haughty prince whose ill-conceived breakup sparks the story’s wild descent. Supporting roles include familiar names like Kensho Ono and Shoya Chiba, promising solid performances across the board.

The opening theme, “Senjou no Hana” (Flowers on the Battlefield), is performed by CHiCO with HoneyWorks, bringing a high-energy, emotionally charged start to every episode. The ending theme, “Inferia” by Shiyui, offers a moodier contrast, leaning into Scarlet’s inner world as she navigates heartbreak and defiance.
Together, they’re setting the tone for an anime that’s equal parts punchy and poetic.

The plot kicks off with what seems like a familiar trope: during a grand noble banquet, our protagonist Scarlet is publicly accused by her fiancé, Prince Kyle, of heinous crimes she didn’t commit. He declares their engagement broken, and the room turns on her.
Most heroines would cry. Some might run. Scarlet?
She calmly asks: “May I ask for one final thing?” And when granted permission, she lays him out cold in front of everyone.
From that moment, it’s clear: this is not your average fantasy heroine. Scarlet is proud, powerful, and not afraid to throw hands when the system tries to break her. Her journey isn’t about clawing her way back into favor—it’s about tearing down the lies, one uppercut at a time.

Online forums, early fan screenings, and manga readers have already begun buzzing. Some are calling her “the anti-villainess villainess.” Others just love that she doesn’t wait for karma—she is karma.
With slick animation, punchy writing, and a heroine who commands the screen, May I Ask for One Final Thing? is shaping up to be one of Fall 2025’s standout anime, especially for viewers burnt out on the same recycled fantasy tropes.
Whether you're here for the noble takedowns, the gorgeous fantasy world, or a lead who skips the slow burn in favor of righteous violence, May I Ask for One Final Thing? is ready to surprise you.
This fall, villainy gets a makeover—and it wears combat boots.
Don’t sleep on this one. Scarlet’s not asking twice!
