Hellbreach: Vegas, a solo developer's first-person zombie shooter, is set to launch on Steam on August 14, offering players a wave-based experience set in the Las Vegas strip. Fans of zombie shooters have another game to look forward to, thanks to Infinity Ape Studios' Hellbreach: Vegas, which officially launches on August 14. Remarkably, the first-person shooter is the work of a solo developer, who has chosen Steam as the platform to share their ambitious creation.
First announced in 2022, Hellbreach: Vegas launched into early access in March 2024 and, so far, has a "Mostly Positive" review rating on Steam. Players have understandably compared the game to the ever-popular Call of Duty: Zombies and Killing Floor 2. During its time in early access, the developer has been rolling out monthly updates for Hellbreach: Vegas, as well as a roadmap to keep interested gamers informed about what to expect leading up to release.
Infinity Ape has also just revealed that Hellbreach: Vegas version 1.0 will be launching on Steam on August 14, though gamers who want to jump in now can of course already buy it in early access for $9.99. There is also a demo available for those who might like to try the game out for a bit before committing.
Hellbreach: Vegas is a wave-based first-person zombie shooter set in the iconic Las Vegas strip. While the game supports up to four players in online co-op, it can also be experienced solo. Upon release, there will be eight maps available, including the recently added "Area 51" that takes players to an underground bunker and introduces a plasma gun, expanding the game's arsenal to more than 19 upgradable weapons. Additionally, players will have access to 11 perks to aid their survival against the zombie hordes.
Fitting the Las Vegas setting, one unique mechanic in Hellbreach: Vegas are the slot machines that allow players to try their luck at obtaining new weapons, power-ups, cosmetics, and other bonuses. Currently, the game offers four game modes, but Infinity Ape plans to implement a fifth mode for the title's full launch on August 14. Furthermore, players can look forward to new cosmetic options for both characters and weapons.
Beyond Hellbreach: Vegas, zombie shooter enthusiasts have plenty of other titles to look forward to. After a few delays, GSC Game World's highly anticipated STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is finally slated to launch on September 5. For those seeking an 80s horror-inspired experience, John Carpenter's Toxic Commando is a promising addition. Additionally, the development of Killing Floor 3 and State of Decay 3 has been announced, further expanding the options for cooperative zombie-slaying action.
