The developers of Call of Duty: Warzone have temporarily disabled the popular Bunker Buster killstreak following reports of glitches affecting its use and availability. Until these issues are thoroughly investigated and resolved, players will not have access to the Bunker Buster or its effects.
As a free-to-play, live service game that runs alongside several other Call of Duty titles, Warzone is increasingly becoming a central hub connecting various installments of the franchise. Upcoming mainline games, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, can introduce new elements to Warzone, including fresh maps, mechanics, weapons, and killstreaks.
However, the Bunker Buster killstreak appears to be plagued by bugs that allow players to exploit it, gaining an unfair advantage. Raven Software, the developer, announced via the official CODUpdates Twitter account that the Bunker Buster has been disabled while the team looks into the issue.
Although Raven Software didn't specify the exact nature of the problem, players have reported on social media and within Warzone communities that the glitch allows them to duplicate the device that triggers the killstreak. This duplication bug enables players to call in numerous Bunker Busters, giving them overwhelming firepower against opponents.
First introduced as part of the Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 Reloaded update in March 2024, the Bunker Buster is favored in Warzone because it can clear out enemies hiding inside buildings. Similar to a mortar or artillery strike, it can penetrate structures and release a toxic gas across multiple floors, forcing out players who are attempting to camp. Only those equipped with a Warzone gas mask or similar protective gear can withstand its effects.
The community's response to the Bunker Buster's temporary removal has been mixed. Some players praised the developers for their quick action, while others expressed frustration over the persistent bugs. Many lamented the loss of an effective "anti-camper" tool. There are even those who suggested that the Bunker Buster should be permanently disabled or reworked to reduce the duration of its gas effect. Additionally, some players have reported that the duplication glitch might be affecting all killstreak devices, not just the Bunker Buster, but Raven Software has yet to confirm if this is the case.
