Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 has arrived, bringing exciting new features to PC players, including official mod support and fresh evil endings to explore.

Baldur's Gate 3 Newest Update Introduces Official Mod Support

Starting today, PC players can take advantage of an in-game mod manager and modding toolkit, both available for download on Steam. These tools make it easier than ever to customize your game experience. Unfortunately, console players will have to wait a little longer, as the mod manager is still undergoing technical checks for PlayStation, Xbox, and Mac. Larian Studios expects this feature to be available for consoles in October.

As a result, cross-platform saves will be temporarily disabled until Patch 7 is rolled out across all platforms.

While the modding toolkit isn't live for PC yet, it’s expected to be available later today. Until then, players can dive into the game’s newly added evil endings. Larian’s Patch 7 blog post teased 13 new cinematic endings tailored for those who embrace the darker choices in the game. While details remain sparse, we know that some involve Ascended Astarion and the Dark Urge’s companions. However, to avoid spoilers, Larian is keeping most of the specifics under wraps—players will need to discover these endings for themselves.

Larian Collaborated with Modders for Patch 7, Script Extender Mods Remain Compatible

Many popular mods depend on the script extender to function, but thanks to a collaboration between Larian Studios and its creator Norbyte, along with other key modders, these mods should remain compatible with the new toolkit.

As with any update, some third-party mods may encounter issues. Larian advises uninstalling any mods if problems arise, to determine whether the issue stems from Patch 7 or a specific mod.

PC players can jump into Baldur's Gate 3 now to experience the latest story updates and features. Console players, however, will have to wait until next month. Until then, it might be wise to mute certain keywords to steer clear of spoilers!
