In response to player feedback, Treyarch has announced a significant adjustment to the Jackal PDW submachine gun for the second weekend of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta. The developers are not only tuning this powerful weapon but also introducing fresh content for beta participants, including new weapons and maps.
The early access beta for Black Ops 6 began on August 30, and a major update was rolled out on September 2. This update introduced the Face Off 6v6 mode along with the Pit and Gala 6v6 maps. Face Off mode features traditional game modes like Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed, but with the twist that Scorestreaks are disabled. The second weekend of the beta, which marks the start of the open beta period, will bring additional updates.
Treyarch's official Twitter account confirmed that the Jackal PDW SMG has been "tuned" for the beta's second weekend, indicating that it has been nerfed. Players are encouraged to explore the new Tanto .22 SMG, which becomes available at level 30. Full patch notes detailing the Jackal PDW's adjustments, as well as other changes to weapons and maps, will be published on September 6.

The community’s response on Twitter shows a mixed but generally positive reaction to the nerf. Some players have expressed frustration at being eliminated quickly by the Jackal PDW, while others are eager to test out the Tanto .22 SMG. With the beta opening to all players on September 6, there’s anticipation for a more diverse range of loadouts in multiplayer, thanks to the new weapons and the adjustments to the Jackal PDW.
In addition to the Tanto .22 SMG, the open beta will introduce the new DM-10 marksman rifle and debut the Gunfight mode. Also, the Face Off Kill Order mode will be part of the open beta experience. Players participating in the beta will have the opportunity to unlock exclusive rewards for Black Ops 6, which will officially release on October 25.
