Season 6 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to reignite the spooky excitement with the return of its popular Halloween event, The Haunting. This year, the event will bring major horror crossovers, featuring none other than Michael Myers from Halloween and Sam from Trick 'r Treat. As Modern Warfare 3 reveals details about its sixth—and likely final—season, fans can expect thrilling content, including a new eerie 6v6 multiplayer map called Drive Thru, along with spooky twists on classic maps such as Meat, Shipment, and High Rise.
Although Call of Duty has made a name for itself with these Halloween events, 2023’s Haunting event in Modern Warfare 2 took things to the next level with jaw-dropping horror crossovers. That event introduced popular characters like Spawn through the battle pass, and also welcomed Ash Williams from Evil Dead, Skeletor from Masters of the Universe, Alucard from Hellsing, and characters from Diablo 4, including Lillith and Inarius. Fans were particularly impressed by a Doom weapons bundle that showcased Call of Duty’s ability to integrate iconic characters and weapons from various franchises seamlessly.
This year’s Haunting event in Modern Warfare 3 is set to rival its predecessor with another incredible lineup of horror icons. Headlining the event is the legendary Michael Myers, the terrifying masked killer from Halloween. Players won’t have to work hard to unlock him either, as he’ll be available instantly with the purchase of the Season 6 battle pass. Joining him is Sam from Trick 'r Treat, who will come as part of an operator bundle, along with a Halloween-themed mask pack for even more frightful fun.
- Michael Myers (Battle Pass)
- Trick 'r Treat – Sam Operator Bundle
- The Walking Dead – Daryl Dixon Operator Bundle
- Terrifier – Art the Clown Operator Bundle
- Smile 2 Tracer Pack
But that’s not all for horror fans! The Terrifier’s Art the Clown will also be making a chilling debut as an operator bundle in Modern Warfare 3. Fans of the hit horror movie Smile will get to experience its terrifying smile theme in the game too, with characters like Valeria and Makarov receiving disturbing grins from the films. As if that wasn’t enough, following up on the earlier The Walking Dead crossover featuring Rick and Michonne, franchise favorite Daryl Dixon will be joining the game in Season 6 as well.
While this horror-filled lineup promises to delight fans of both Call of Duty and horror alike, it also marks the end of an era. With Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 set to release on October 25, this final season of Modern Warfare 3 will be the last chance for players to enjoy these unique skins, as they won’t be transferable to Black Ops 6. Treyarch is opting for a fresh start with a 90s-themed multiplayer experience in the new game, signaling the close of Modern Warfare 3’s iconic run.
