In Space Marine 2, players can enjoy enhanced customization options for their Astartes, far surpassing those available in the original game. From altering individual armor pieces to swapping decals, there's a lot to tweak. Among these features is the ability to toggle helmets on or off, applicable to both single-player and multiplayer modes.
Whether you prefer to see the faces of Titus and his Ultramarine squad during combat or favor a more immersive experience as the Tyranid Swarm descends upon you, this guide will help you manage helmet visibility effectively.
In contrast to the first game, Space Marine 2 allows players to equip helmets on Titus and his squadmates during campaign missions. To adjust this setting, navigate to the Game section within the Settings menu. Here, you’ll find the Helmet Visibility option prominently listed at the top.
This adjustment affects only the main characters throughout the campaign. When transitioning between missions, players can also customize Titus’s helmet using the Edit Armor feature located at the Armouring Hall on the Battle Barge, provided they have unlocked any cosmetic items.
The Helmet Visibility setting does not influence PvE or PvP modes in Space Marine 2. For these modes, customization is managed entirely through the Armouring Hall. Here, you can choose from a variety of helmets for each class, or opt to go without one.
To change your helmet, select any available armor set from the Edit Armor menu and then choose an empty slot in the Custom Armor Set section at the lower left. This will allow you to modify individual armor pieces. For color changes, head to the Astartes Chapters tab and make your adjustments there.
Currently, the customization options for Heretic Astartes are limited to color changes only. Each class features unique marine models associated with different Chaos Legions, such as the Night Lords and World Eaters. However, these models can only be altered through heraldry options, with no further customization available.
