Vampire Survivors introduces a local co-op mode and announces its launch on Nintendo Switch

The popular indie game Vampire Survivors has released a new update that includes a local co-op mode, allowing up to four players to play together. This feature is now available on all platforms where the game is accessible. In addition, the game is making its debut on the Nintendo Switch platform, with the highly anticipated couch co-op update included. The Steam version of Vampire Survivors is also transitioning to a new engine for better performance.

Vampire Survivors brings local co-op mode for multiplayer mayhem

The local co-op mode has been added to the game through a free update. This mode allows players to experience the full Vampire Survivors story with up to four players in a local split-screen cooperative setup. It is available on PC, Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and mobile platforms, with each player needing their own controller.
In this co-op mode, players have the option to continue their existing game progress or start a new journey with their friends, working together to fight against waves of undead enemies. Seamless transitioning between single-player and cooperative modes at different stages of the game allows for chaotic multiplayer action. Like other successful cooperative games, Vampire Survivors encourages teamwork and challenges the traditional definition of "cooperative."
Furthermore, the new mode introduces a special cooperative-exclusive item called The Friendship Amulet, along with various cooperative-oriented settings that allow players to customize their cooperative gameplay experience.

Vampire Survivors hits Nintendo Switch with all-new co-op action

The Nintendo Switch version of Vampire Survivors is now available for $4.99/€4.99/£3.99. There is a 10% launch discount available until August 29th. This version includes all the recent updates, including the highly anticipated 4-player couch co-op feature, of the well-received indie game.
Additionally, players can also purchase the DLCs Legacy of the Moonspell and Tides of the Foscari on the Nintendo Switch platform for $1.99/€1.99/£1.59 each. Players can now enjoy the thrill of navigating through the night using their favorite Joy-Con controllers.
The Steam version of Vampire Survivors has been running on both its original Phaser engine and a new engine (which was necessary for better porting and stability) for some time. After comprehensive testing confirmed the superior performance of the new engine, the game's Steam edition is fully transitioning to the new engine.
