A dedicated Pokémon GO player has come up with an innovative solution to the Remote Raid Pass restrictions, suggesting a hybrid system that combines both walking and PokeCoins to recharge the passes. Niantic introduced these limits to encourage outdoor activity, and this idea offers a compromise between the goals of developers and the desires of players.
In recent weeks, Pokémon GO fans have enjoyed plenty of exciting content, from the Legendary Heroes event to the debut of Dynamax Beldum in Max Raids. However, not all aspects of these events have been well-received. For example, the heavy emphasis on trading during the Legendary Heroes event left many players—especially those in rural areas—feeling frustrated. Amid this discontent, one creative player has presented a thoughtful solution to the ongoing Remote Raid Pass issue.
A user named Entire_Pineapple4732 recently shared their idea on the Pokémon GO subreddit. They propose the introduction of a permanent Remote Raid Pass that players could charge by walking two kilometers. This pass would store up to 10 charges at a time, and once charged, players would need to spend 100 PokeCoins to participate in a raid.
This proposal aligns with Niantic’s core philosophy of promoting outdoor exploration and social interaction. By requiring players to walk a certain distance to recharge their passes, the system encourages physical activity, while still allowing for the convenience of remote raids.
At the same time, the plan wouldn’t undermine Niantic’s monetization strategy, as players would still need to spend PokeCoins to join raids. The proposal also caters to players who want more flexibility, allowing them to enjoy the game at their own pace.
One standout feature of the idea is its potential integration with Party Play. The user suggests that recharging Remote Raid Passes could be faster when playing in Party Play mode, encouraging group play, which is something Niantic has consistently promoted.
The suggestion has sparked positive reactions on Reddit, with many players calling for Niantic to hold a community poll to gauge interest in the idea. However, some fans worry about potential abuse of the system, noting that players could use fake steps or multiple accounts to exploit the walking requirement and Party Play bonus.
This creative proposal represents a balanced solution that could satisfy both Pokémon GO players and Niantic, encouraging outdoor activity while still allowing for the convenience of remote raids.
