In October 2024, Pokémon GO gives players the exciting opportunity to encounter both Ditto and Shiny Ditto in the wild. Known for its unique ability to mimic the appearance and abilities of other Pokémon, Ditto can be tricky to spot. However, there have been no changes to Ditto's disguises this month, so you'll want to be familiar with which Pokémon it can imitate.
Although finding a wild Ditto can be challenging, Niantic has provided insights on how to identify it. Currently, Ditto can disguise itself as a limited selection of Pokémon, but these potential disguises do change from time to time. To catch Ditto or Shiny Ditto, you'll need to know which Pokémon to look for and keep your eyes peeled in the wild. This guide outlines all the Ditto disguises available for October 2024.
Niantic frequently updates Ditto's disguises, and this month is no exception. For October 2024, several Pokémon can be transformed into Ditto. While the chances of encountering a Shiny Ditto are not guaranteed, dedicated trainers may find one by catching multiple Dittos. Below is a list of all the potential disguises.
All Ditto Disguises |

Koffing |

Keep an eye out for these spawns. If you receive an "Oh?" prompt after catching a Pokémon, you’ve just captured a Ditto in disguise!
Catching a Ditto typically has a 1 in 50 chance, but players can boost their odds by encountering as many Pokémon as possible. The most effective way to do this is by using Lure Modules or Incense at a PokéStop or Gym. These items increase the number of Pokémon that appear on the map, resulting in more opportunities to find Ditto.
Additionally, take advantage of the in-game item Incense and the Weather Boost function. Ditto’s spawn rate is enhanced during partly cloudy weather, so attach a Lure Module to a PokéStop or Gym in such conditions, activate an Incense, and explore the area.
Don't forget to use the Daily Adventure Incense, an item that players receive once a day, which remains active for 15 minutes. This item attracts Pokémon not typically found in the wild. As long as you keep moving, new Pokémon will continue to spawn, offering the potential for some rare catches during that time.
