Niantic has just dropped some thrilling new details about Pokémon GO's upcoming Max Battles, shedding light on how this highly anticipated feature will work. As part of its ongoing commitment to keep the game fresh and engaging, Niantic is introducing Dynamax—an exciting new addition inspired by Gen 8 Pokémon.

Dynamax allows Pokémon to temporarily grow to enormous sizes and access powerful new abilities known as Max Moves. Additionally, there’s a special variant called Gigantamax, which alters a Pokémon’s appearance and grants it access to exclusive G-Max Moves. With the launch of the Max Out season, Dynamax is finally making its way to Pokémon GO. Niantic has provided fresh insights into what players can expect from this new mechanic.

In addition to the battle mechanics, Niantic has revealed that Dynamax Pokémon will have their own dedicated Pokédex. However, these Pokémon will still be stored in the player's normal Pokémon storage, with a special icon to distinguish them. Players can earn up to 800 Max Particles per day, which will be used as currency in battles. Note that existing Pokémon cannot be Dynamaxed, but PokeCoins can be used to enhance Max Battles rewards.

The Max Out season will begin on September 3, but Dynamax Pokémon and Max Battles are instead set to make their debut on September 10 during a special event. This is just one of the exciting updates for trainers, who will also see the addition of new Galarian Pokémon, including the starters Grookey, Sobble, and Scorbunny. September's Community Day will feature Ponyta and its regional variant, and the Battle League has been refreshed with new rewards and competitive cups for players to enjoy.
