Excitement is building for the release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the highly anticipated sequel to Dragon Age: Inquisition (2014). Fans can look forward to reuniting with beloved characters such as Varric and Solas, alongside some new faces and familiar names who have never been featured in the main series before.
Note: This article contains potential spoilers for Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Slated for release on October 31, Dragon Age: The Veilguard introduces Rook as the main protagonist, accompanied by seven companions: Davrin, Taash, Scout Harding, Lucanis, Bellara, Emmrich, and Neve Gallus. To provide fans with more insights into the game, BioWare recently hosted a Discord Q&A session, revealing exciting details about the upcoming title.
One of the most intriguing announcements came from Dragon Age: The Veilguard director Corinne Busche, who confirmed that Maevaris Tilani, a fan-favorite Tevinter Magister, will appear in the game. Maevaris Tilani, affectionately known as Mae, is a popular character from Dragon Age spin-offs such as Those Who Speak, Until We Sleep, and Heroes of Dragon Age. She was also referenced in Dragon Age: Inquisition through minor War Table quests. Maevaris is notable for being the series' first transgender character, and her inclusion in The Veilguard has been highly anticipated by fans. While Busche confirmed Maevaris' presence, details regarding the extent of her role in the game remain under wraps.
In addition to Maevaris' appearance, BioWare’s Discord Q&A provided more intriguing details about The Veilguard. Busche revealed that each companion will possess unique exploration abilities. However, players won’t need to keep specific team members in their party to utilize these skills, as Rook will have access to all of them.
BioWare has been steadily unveiling new information about The Veilguard. Recently, the studio released fresh screenshots showcasing the game’s companions, further fueling fan excitement. Additionally, BioWare shared images of the Lighthouse, which will serve as the party’s main headquarters. These screenshots offer a glimpse into the personal spaces of each companion, providing insights into their individual personalities.
As the release date approaches, BioWare is expected to reveal even more details about this eagerly awaited RPG. Stay tuned for further updates and discoveries about Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
