In Black Myth: Wukong, Chapter Five takes players through the treacherous Flaming Mountains, where the mighty King Ox and numerous formidable bosses reside. Among these dangerous foes are the challenging duo, Cloudy Mist and Misty Cloud. Cloudy Mist is a three-headed spellcaster that fires homing projectiles, while Misty Cloud uses a more straightforward approach, wielding burning incense sticks as a club.
Taking down this pair is essential to advancing through the Flaming Mountains and obtaining the fifth relic. This guide provides detailed strategies to help players conquer these bosses and emerge victorious.
Heading into the battle, the best strategy is to rely on the Immobilize and Pluck of Many spell combo. Immobilizing either boss and deploying clones can quickly reduce their health. This method uses a lot of mana but is highly effective. Additionally, using Rock Solid helps parry Misty Cloud’s fiery melee strikes, creating openings for counterattacks if timed correctly. For transformations, Azure Dust and Ebon Flow are excellent choices, allowing players to withstand Cloudy Mist’s homing projectiles and Misty Cloud’s melee combos while dealing substantial damage.
Azure Dust is easier to manage, stunning the bosses after absorbing a few hits. Ebon Flow demands more precision but allows heavy attacks after focus is built by blocking.
The battle kicks off with Cloudy Mist unleashing a horizontal beam of light. Timing is key here—players can either dodge towards the beam or jump over it. Once players close in on Cloudy Mist, they’ll switch to melee attacks with their staff, swinging it back and forth. After two swipes, Misty Cloud will leap in for a third strike, providing an opportunity to strike back before their next attack.
When Cloudy Mist begins slowly sweeping their staff, motes of light appear and later turn into fast-moving homing projectiles. To avoid them, dodge toward the projectiles just as they approach. However, be cautious—these motes are hard to shake and can quickly turn back. Cloudy Mist often follows this attack with a heavy staff swing, after which Misty Cloud jumps in with an overhead slam. Dodge both, but refrain from attacking immediately, as more motes will appear, flashing briefly before firing beams of light. Time your dodge to avoid the beams and then go on the offensive.
Another attack starts when Cloudy Mist hunches over, light building up inside them. They’ll fire three rapid beams, requiring players to dodge until the third beam is discharged. This sequence opens up a window to land a few hits.
When Cloudy Mist’s health drops by at least a quarter, they introduce a new move by planting their staff in the ground and waving their arms. Retreat as far as possible to avoid the stunning flash that follows, as it signals Misty Cloud’s more active involvement. Cloudy Mist will then hurl a large projectile, which can be dodged by moving sideways.
Once Cloudy Mist uses the flashbang, they will turn invisible, and Misty Cloud takes the lead. Misty Cloud prefers close-range melee strikes, which can cause burning, and also utilizes jump attacks to quickly close gaps. They can briefly swap in Cloudy Mist to fire ranged attacks, including the triple laser beam. After using this ranged attack, Misty Cloud will charge in for a jump strike. Stay calm and dodge the lasers, followed by the leap attack, and then counter Misty Cloud.
When Misty Cloud raises their burning club with both hands, they’re preparing an overhead slam. Dodge sideways to avoid the vertical attack, then sidestep the horizontal swing that follows—be careful not to dodge backward, as it leaves a fiery trail. Misty Cloud will follow up with a few more swings, including two overhead slams. After the second slam, you’ll have an opportunity to strike.
One of Misty Cloud’s signature moves involves pausing after a heavy overhead swing. As the club remains on the ground, they create a smoke blast to stun you. To avoid this, dodge right as the club emits the blast. Afterward, Misty Cloud will tag Cloudy Mist back in, who will launch homing projectiles while Misty Cloud charges at you for another slam. Although this sequence is tough to dodge, well-timed consecutive dodges can let you evade both the projectiles and the slam. Azure Dust can also be used to tank through this combo if equipped.
When Cloudy Mist utters “Show Him Our Teamwork,” prepare for Misty Cloud to launch into a fast melee combo. As you dodge, keep an eye on Cloudy Mist, who will be preparing a massive ranged attack. Once Misty Cloud’s combo finishes, focus on dodging Cloudy Mist’s blast, then capitalize by using Immobilize and dealing damage.
The bosses will continuously swap the lead during the fight, combining their attacks to create a constant challenge. Patience is crucial—wait for their openings and focus on whittling them down. Once you defeat one of them, the remaining boss will not introduce any new moves, making it much easier to finish them off.
Stay calm, follow the patterns, and you’ll emerge victorious against Cloudy Mist and Misty Cloud, securing your path through the Flaming Mountains.
