Overwatch 2 Unveils Legendary Skin Rewards for Anniversary Celebration

In honor of its second anniversary, Overwatch 2 is treating players to three complimentary Legendary skins: Biohazard Ramattra, Bounty Hunter Baptiste, and Infinite Guard: 76. Players can unlock one of these skins each week alongside additional anniversary cosmetics and Battle Pass experience points. The first set of objectives is currently available in the game.

October 4 marks the two-year milestone for Overwatch 2, and to celebrate, the game is hosting a three-week event that allows players to revisit popular Arcade modes, complete various challenges, and earn exclusive in-game rewards.

As the event's first week unfolds, players can discover the rewards up for grabs. By completing a selection of objectives, fans can earn the Legendary skins: Biohazard Ramattra in week one, Bounty Hunter Baptiste in week two, and Infinite Guard: 76 in the final week. The weekly reset occurs every Tuesday, meaning the second and third challenges will launch on October 1 and 8, respectively, with the event concluding on October 15.

Rewards for the Overwatch 2 Second Anniversary Event

But the Legendary skins aren’t the only prizes available. Players can also earn four player icons—golden portraits of Mauga, Venture, and Juno, along with a special 2024 anniversary icon—plus a Juno keychain spray and the title of Hero of 2024. Additionally, completing these challenges allows players to accumulate a total of 38,000 Battle Pass experience points, potentially advancing nearly four tiers on the Overwatch 2 Season 12 Battle Pass, which wraps up simultaneously with the anniversary event.

Each week, different Overwatch 2 Arcade game modes from the previous year will be accessible. In the first week, players can enjoy Battle of the Beasts and Community Crafted; week two features Cosmic Crisis and April Fools 2024; and the final week includes Mirrorwatch and Prop Hunt. Engaging in these modes is a fantastic way to make progress toward the event challenges, so players are encouraged to join in while they can.

However, not all players are thrilled with this year’s anniversary celebration. Many feel that Overwatch 2 has not generated sufficient excitement for the event and has introduced nothing new— all the skins are existing Legendary cosmetics from the in-game store, and there’s no Overwatch Credits shop like there was last year. While the opportunity to receive free rewards is always welcomed, many fans were hoping for a more thrilling experience. There is hope that upcoming holiday events will deliver the excitement players are looking for.
