Overwatch 2 fans are in for a treat: Blizzard is giving away the epic Octopus Lucio skin along with 1,000 coins through Microsoft Rewards. This promotion follows Blizzard’s recent announcement that Overwatch 2 will join Xbox Game Pass on September 17, just a month after the launch of Season 12.
To celebrate Overwatch 2's addition to the Xbox Game Pass library, subscribers are eligible for a special, time-limited giveaway. Players who link their Battle.net and Xbox accounts and log into the game before October 21 can claim skins like Cardboard Reinhardt, Turtleship D.Va, Cyberdragon Hanzo, Street Runner Genji, Bee Mercy, and Cleric Lifeweaver, as well as receive 30 Mythic Prisms for purchasing Mythic skins. Blizzard has hinted that even more free items will be available to Overwatch 2 players, and the latest offering has just been revealed.
Players can snag the epic Lucio Octopus skin by accumulating 10,000 Microsoft Rewards points. These points can be earned by using Bing for searches, browsing on Edge via PC and mobile, shopping for tech, movies, apps, and games in the Microsoft Store, playing on Xbox consoles, and engaging with the Windows app. In addition to Lucio's skin, players will also receive 1,000 Overwatch 2 coins to spend in the in-game store.
It’s worth noting that this offer via Microsoft Rewards is only available to players in select countries, specifically the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and Singapore. The Octopus Lucio skin, which first appeared in Overwatch 2 Season 11, gives Lucio a distinct octopus-like appearance. His outfit is tinged with a pink hue, complemented by mollusk-like eyes and tentacle-shaped hair. Initially, this skin was part of the Starter Pack available in the Shop for $39.99 USD, which also included 1,000 Overwatch Coins.
Beyond the return of Lucio’s skin, Season 12 of Overwatch 2 is packed with new cosmetics for players to collect through various means. Highlights include the Doomfist Bast, Echo Astet, Pharah Nefertari, and Reaper Anubis skins, all inspired by Egyptian mythology. Additionally, Blizzard is expanding the Polar skin series with new designs for Reinhardt, Genji, Baptiste, Brigitte, and Lucio. Fans of the popular K-pop group LE SSERAFIM will also be pleased to find their themed skins making a comeback, giving players a chance to complete their collections from last year.
Blizzard’s ongoing efforts to enrich Overwatch 2 with fresh content and rewards are sure to keep fans engaged as the game continues to evolve.
